    1pm-4pm

    Ruckus. 12th and Brookside.

Looking for something new to do with your friends/significant other? Interested in doing a community project? Are you 21 and over? Love Beer?

We are starting off this series making some brightly powder coated public benches for Mass Ave. They will have unique design elements and small metal plates where class participants names will be added. Working in pairs of two, you will learn the basics of Mig welding, material layout, cutting and grinding.

After class, we head down the hallway to Centerpoint Brewery for beer samples. Learn to weld, give back to the community, and try some great beers.

Class Fee: $75 Fee includes all materials, shop safety gear and beer samples. Class size is limited.

Proceeds will come back to help fund our organization and programming.

    Un Poquitico De Cuba- Fundraiser

    7pm

1417 Commerce Avenue. Ruckus-Micro Manufacturing Facility.

Indiana Futsal teams up with RUCKUS Makerspace to provide un pocquitito de Cuba.

$5 admission (card friendly) - $5 raffle entry. All Ages. Beer by Sun King and Centerpoint Brewing Ice Cream by Gordon's Ice Cream Parlor. Food by El Venezolano FTo.

Join us for a night of dancing, live music, local beer, Venezuelan arepas, and ice cream! More importantly we are raising money to empower youth in Havana through the beautiful game of Futsal.

Through a budding collaboration with the Artecorte community group in Havana, Indiana Futsal has been given the incredible opportunity to share its expertise in building the sport to organizers in Cuba via a planned trip this May.

The five-person delegation representing Indiana Futsal and the Hoosier State will lend its knowledge on tournament organization, court building and other areas, while also bringing along donated equipment to help put these ideas into action. The cross-cultural exchange of ideas will also see Artecorte lend its best practices on utilizing artists to add a community-building aspect to court design and insights on how it has provided access to the sport to children, especially in urban areas.

DMD Public Meeting- Comprehensive Plan for Indianapolis

    5:30-7:30pm

John Boner Center. 10th and Jefferson.

The Marion County Land Use Plan is one element of the Comprehensive Plan for Indianapolis and Marion County.  The update of the Land Use Plan is part of the broader Plan 2020 Initiative and is guided by the Plan 2020 Bicentennial Agenda.

The plan is required by state statute as a basis for zoning and must include objectives and policies for future land use development.  It is a policy document, not law, designed to promote the orderly development and redevelopment of the county.

DMD long-range planning is looking for public comment and involvement. In-person engagement for the mapping phase has two options.  You can join a scheduled, facilitated community meeting at one of 13 locations across Marion County (like this meeting!) or you can interact one-on-one with city planners by stopping in during office hours held at coffee shops and libraries around the city.

You can also use the interactive mapping tool. You can find office hours, additional meeting locations/dates and the online mapping tool here.
